pretty, prettier...?

I bought this white, plain (and pretty)
flower pot from Ikea store earlier
this ear, but I didn't use it!
Instead I found myself wanting to
make it "somehow prettier" ?!
So this is what I came up with... ;)

"Bladet" flower pot from Ikea

I had an old porcelain rose but it did
not have any leafs, so I made two leafs
using clay, and once dried, I glued it onto
the pot. I also glued around the top,
a plastic neckless!!

Then it was time for two
layers of good acrylic primer

and (only) one layer of
kalklitir/limecolors, using my
favorite gray (san saccaria)

The rose got some very soft pink color,
while the leafs got a little darker gray

Then some sanding was needed to
give it a smooth and "used" look

voila...
so much prettier..? ;D

boxing things up...

I made this box for the things we use in the kitchen,
things like olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper etc.

This is what I did :

I bought some mdf...

and (simply) made a 36x43cm. box out of it...

in fact I made two boxes, so I still have one to go!
(I'm thinking pink box for perfume, jewelry etc.?)

I painted the box gray... ( my favorite color ;)

and I also bought these handles, which I painted
and decorated, using silver-leafs.

( my old pepper grinder got
the same makeover... )

(much nicer, don't you think?)

"voila"

Now I have all these things, that "fit together",
in one place.

before & after...

I finally finished decorating this old chair I
bought a few months ago!

This is basically what I did :
primed the frame using acrylic-primer,
put gold-leaf on the hole frame and then used
antiquing technique to make the gold look old,
then I varnished it using water-based-varnish.
I put a new cotton fabric over the old green velvet,
using staple gun, and finally I glued some
rose ribbon on the edges.

the old and tired chair...

I'm quite happy with the chair now, so I will
definitely use it in my home.
Looking forward to tackle more projects which
I have already bought! ;-)

Come when you're look'd for, or come without warning.

flowers & jewelry...

Two of my favorites to make are
silk flowers & jewelry made
from freshwater pearls.
I do have a lot of them, I know,
but they are so much fun to make.. ;)
I use these in my hair all the time
but they are also great to decorate
shoes & dresses...

and they are in fact quite easy to make!

I do make all kinds of bracelets...

and earrings... ;)
I love these odd shapes
and soft colors...

blue, pink, white...

I simply love them all...
