Not ready...

I'm not ready for the summer to be over,
it's as simple as that!! I'm still thinking pink flowers,
summer dresses, having a drink with friends in the garden,
and all the nice things we do when it is summer.
But summers are short here in Iceland, and
it looks like this one is already over.
I miss you summer!!!

Come back if you can......

a hint of color...

Having a favorite color is nice, and sometimes using
just a hint of it in your home or decorations can be
enough to make your place more personal and beautiful.

These blue crystals are very beautiful, so
if you like this color, then this would be
just a perfect choice for your home.

Sometimes it's easier to use your favorite
color for smaller items like these.

Having a soft blue sofa like this
I think is pretty cool.

These colors work so well here.

I think that "less is more" is a good thing to have in mind
when using ones favorite color for the home.

more inspiring objects...

I'm getting a lot of inspiration for my hand painted
textiles from these beautiful objects. In fact
I can't wait to get started on my next project!

I love these soft, muted colors,
and the old and used look is so attractive.

inspiring objects...

I find these beautiful objects to be very inspiring.
Just looking at the colors that are used and how
the items are decorated is so nice.

It's easy to get ideas for ones work
just looking at these beautiful objects.
Merci!

just beautiful...

Just imagine having these beautiful things in
your home or in your summer house.
I know I would love to have them.

GR stands for grace received.
Such a beautiful votive.

Chandelier to die for.

Pink... so romantic.

mirror...

I like using mirrors as decorations in my home.
A mirror can really change a room, whether it is big or small,
old or new. Some mirrors I have, I've made myself, but some I buy.
I love when the glass is old and damaged and you can't see your
image in it anymore, but they are so hard to find.
I've tried different paint techniques to achieve this
old and used look!

This is a mirror I made several years ago.
I decorated the frame using silver leaf and then
I made the glass look old and damaged.

Here is another I made last year using old
paint techniques and ornaments to decorate it.

This one I love, I bought it from an antique dealer
in Belgium 10 years ago. The frame is more then 100 years
old, and it used to hang in an hotel in paris.
Love these bird cases with mirrors inside
and painted birds they are just so beautiful.

A beautiful blue one.

A mix of old mirror and mercury glass.

A grand mirror in dark color goes well
with this white daybed.

muted grey...

Grey is my favorite color.
I specially love all kinds of muted grey colors.
I like mixing them together, and they go so
nicely with old weathered wood.
I have so many different shades of grey colors
in my lime paint production and I use them a lot,
I also like how they can give new items old look.
You can use them on walls or on furniture and decorative items.

Here are some pictures of muted grey colors
being used in a beautiful way.

Linen has this muted color appearance.

Beautiful old mercury glass goes well
with a gray color palette.

Old weathered wood is so beautiful.
There are ways to achieve this look for new wood,
using lye, white oil and liming wax.

I can't imagine not using grey colors for
my interior and decoration, I just love them to much.
