my kind of meditation...

Making decoupage is not something that can be done
in one afternoon, and even though I have been doing this for
16 years I am still learning and improving my techniques.
When I have finished decorating the objects, using copies,
silver-leafs, etc. (that's the fun part ;), the work that requires a
lot of patience's starts, because usually I will put 20-30 layers of
different materials on the item until I am satisfied with
the the results. But still I like doing decoupage,
and for me It's like my kind of meditation....

here I have finished decorating a glass bowl,
using copies that I have hand colored...

you can see how they are glued on the glass...

I have painted this one white and also
decorated it using silver-leafs...

now I "only" have to put several layers (20-30) of
different materials on the bowl, after that it
will be painted white and then waxed to give it smooth finish.
So still few weeks until it will be ready for use!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed
this introduction to decoupage.

  2. I didn't know how long a decoupage takes. And it seems to require not just the creativity but lots of patience! I love your art work, it's very soft ,feminine and elegant.
It's always a joy to visit your blog.
