silk ribbon embroidery...

From the moment I saw the first silk ribbon embroidery items I was hooked.
I wanted to learn how to do it, how to make all kinds of roses, I love roses.
After reading about it, looking at tons of pictures, trying out different
techniques for coloring the ribbons, believing I could do it,
even though I have never been a big fan of embroidery,
my first silk ribbon embroidery items are ready!!

my silk ribbon embroidery turned into these (beautiful) pillows
by a very talented professional seamstress..

silk ribbon roses & linen..

soon to be someone's heart...?

(I hope to be able to sell these items in my web-shop, opening soon!?)

new stuff called STUC...

I have been trying out this new product we are starting to sell along with our lime-paint, (www.kalklitir.com). It is a special mix called STUC, (lime, cement etc.) and we use the same dry pigments to add color to it as we do to our lime-paint, here on this table top,  I used my favorite  color,  san saccaria ;)  The process to mix it is similar to the use of our lime paint, i.e. you only mix water to the STUC.  First you have to give the area one coat of a special primer, (we sell that too ;)  which dries in approx. one hour, and then you need 2-3 thin layers of STUC. Then when the STUC is dry, (already the next day), you can give it one
(or two) layers of wax-oile (we sell that one too ;) to protect it and keep it nice and smooth.

You can use the Stuc on all kinds of things, stone floor, old tiles, walls, glass, wood etc.  as long as the surface is "dead"  (i.e. not mowing or expanding ;)  I have already tried it on our old  porcelain sink in the bathroom, (will do a post on that late) among other things, and I have to say,
I'm absolutely thrilled about this new stuff called STUC!!

yes, I also put some STUC on the base of this wooden lamp ;)

painting & patinating...

More "faux vintage"
These are few of my decorated bowls I've been doing
using transfer technique. Still using these 200 year old
wallpaper cuts I found, editing the prints on my computer,
painting and patinating  and then baking them in the oven
to get the look I like ;)

I am planing to open a web shop to sell the things I make,
( handpainted pillows, bowls, decoupage items, limepaint etc. )
hopefully it will be soon... in the meantime you can always
send me an email if you are interested in buying ;)

glue & glitter...

I'm using copies from old wallpaper again, but this time
to decorate old and rather ugly metal trash can,
(but trying to make it look vintage ;)
& gluing carrara marble glitter
(martha stewart)on things to use
for christmas decorations,
so
glue & glitter all over the place now!
