cupcakes...

This weekend we are having our annual town festival.
There will be a lot of entertainment such as singing, dancing,
amusement parks, and so much more...

There is this one thing that I'm looking most forward to participate in,
and that is our first big cupcake party. It will be held in our
beautiful botanical garden. I just hope that the sun will show up!
So I'm going to be baking a lot of cupcakes today,
and I'm sure I will enjoy decorating them,
I find that to be the fun part!

Aren't these beautful?

I bought a lot of nice cupcake forms to bake in.

I think It's necessary to have a good recipe
when baking. I have this beautiful book from
Primerose Bakery, where you can find some good
recipies and also learn how to decorate your cupcakes.

I've been making pom poms to use as decorations.

We will hang them up in the trees.

yes I will....

handpainted textile...

I've been making these handpainted textiles for some years.
I try to make nice things too use out of them.
Sometimes It can be a pillow, or loose cover for a furniture.
On some textiles I only do stripes, I love stripes,
they are easy and fun to do, but on others I paint
more complex decorations.
I also like how well they go together.

Here are some things I have made out of my
handpainted textiles, that I have in my home.

Decorated pillow on our bed.

Few pillows on our living room sofa.

Loose cover.
I really like those loose covers, they are so easy to have,
and when washed, they look all new again.

I plan to make a lot more of handpainted textiles...

collecting freckles...

I'm glad the sun is shining again here in my hometown,
we have had some rainy days lately.
My house is situated in industrial area,
and I don't have a garden there yet!
But I made a cosy little corner next to my front door where
we enjoy sitting, having a cup of coffee and collecting freckles!

it's not a big place but we do enjoy it though.

I made the table from old wood.
(using wood from europallets! )

It's nice to have my pink pelargonia
and some roses on the table.

The flower pot and the zinc bucket
are painted with limepaint.

I hope the sun will keep on shining, it's so nice.

white & white...

I find white color to be a very beautiful one.
Even though white can be used with so many other colors,
I think it's even more beautiful if it is the only color used in the room,
or in the hole house!

White being used beautifully!

decoupage...

I've been making decoupage for a long time.
It's one of my passions.
If you love cutting, gluing,
lacquering ( a lot!) and decorating,
maybe you should try it?
I know I love it!
I think about my pieces as objects d'art.

Images to use can be found just about anywhere
and there are books that can teach you to master this craft.

Deqoupaged glass bowls, using photo copies,
paint and gold-leaf.
I have decorated so many boxes.
Flower potts are beautiful to decorate
I love finding old ones for the job.

Decorating large objects is a lot of fun.

Almost 16 years ago I read an article in a magazine,
about a woman from Brittain making decoupage.
I got so inspired, I knew instantly that I wanted to learn it.
It has brought me to the world of decorating and
I'm so grateful for it.

Bedroom Project...

I'm doing a bedroom for a client.
They wanted me to decorate the entire room,
I love that!
It is a bedroom for they're lovely daughter (she's 17)
I'm going to make it sweet and feminine for her.
I had the room painted white, and she wanted one wall in pink color.
I made a special color for her that I call "antique rose" using my limepaint.

When starting the project

this is a headboard I made for her

a touch of shabby chic

of course she will get a mirror for her room
